Abandon flowers for non-traditional plants

Everyone expects flowers to get them approx The same attention as a dress or a cake, but Giancacos likes to flip the text by using more exotic plants as centerpieces. As with many of the above, greenery can also be brought into the home after the wedding to serve as a living and breathing reminder of your special day.
“An orange tree in pots, for example, can bring in a distinct color, especially if planted in a great ornamental planter,” he says. “Like a house, you want these pieces to be conversation starters. I can also see a Mazari palm tree to add drama with memorable scale, height, and detail.”
Another fad in plant design, particularly in a post-pandemic world, is buying inexpensive, easy-to-care-for cacti and succulents. “There are so many fun shapes, textures, colors, and even flowers with these beauties,” says Gianacakos. “Just hope your guests are smart enough not to touch each other.”
In the end, the overall look and feel of your wedding day is a very personal decision, but making some design ideas you see in your favorite homes can be a great starting point when sitting down with a planner, or more importantly, when tackling a DIY event. Think of the space as a gigantic living room or dining room and what you want it to say about your love story, interests, and personal taste. One thing is for sure: originality will never run out.
