City wants to create a renewed vision for Main Avenue

The City of Durango seeks input from residents to shape a renewed vision of what its downtown area will look and feel like.
The Durango Department of Community Development wants to hear from community members about how the city is redesigning the streets and public spaces along Main Avenue between Fifth and Fourteenth Streets.
An online survey is available to residents. The survey asks how residents use the downtown area and what changes they might want to see.
The Department of Community Development also asks which downtown areas in other towns residents visited and what aspects of those areas might operate in Durango.
The project team will use the survey results and discussions with the stakeholder group and business improvement area to form a conceptual design.
Among the downtown elements to be discussed are patios, sidewalks, street trees, and other landscaping, bicycle facilities, vehicle driveways, and parking pedestrian walkways.
The survey will be open until January 7th. Additional opportunities for comment are expected in February and March.
