Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Mary Alice (Gunther) Kay passed away on December 13, 2021, of dementia. She was born on June 13, 1952 at Hill Air Force Base, Utah. She was the second to the oldest child of John Bruce Gunther and Karma Jan Gunther. Her siblings were Craig Malmberg and John Russell Gunther. She spent her early years at Ogden UT in addition to traveling with her family. The family then moved to Davis County, Utah. She graduated from Ogden High School in 1971. She met her future husband Harold in Kaye while attending high school at Ogden High School. They married on December 23, 1971. Later they were sealed forever at the LDS Temple in Salt Lake City.
Together they raised 4 children. Janet L. Kay (Stoddard), Debbie J. Kay (Stacker), Kimberly A. Kay (Gruger), and Harold Vincent Kay. During their married life they lived in Davis County, Ogden Utah, Heidelberg Germany, and Huachuca Arizona. She spent her remaining years in West Point, Utah.
Mary worked as a full-time stay-at-home mom and military wife for several years, taking care of her kids and husband, Wendy’s, Mary Kays Cosmetics, interior decoration and design, and IRS where she retired in November of 2009. Mary is known for her sweet laugh, her smile, her wonderful zucchini bread Cookies, Homemade Noodles and Soups, Sewing, and Her Interior Ideas. Mary had a wonderful voice and loved to sing, and she taught her children the love of music regardless of the music generation and the joy of using her voice. She loved most of the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, hippie, blues and all country music, thanks to her kids who enjoyed the latest music and some rock as well.
Her favorite time of the year was Christmas. She loved decorating and shopping for her children and grandchildren as well as family and friends. She had a big heart, she was thankful for her blessing in her life, and she takes care of everyone.
Marie was enthusiastic and energetic even when she was in pain due to some medical and health issues, she kept trying, cleaning, organizing and feeling like there was something she had to do even in her last days. It was the backbone of the family and it tied us together every time we got caught up in life.
She is survived by her husband, Harold Fey Kaye, and three of her children Debbie Kay (Stacker), Kimberly Kay and Edward (Groger), and Harold Vincent Kay. Her five great-grandchildren, Anastasia Kay, Karma J. Stoddard, Tyler J. Stoddard, Joseph Stoddard, and Shelley N. Stacker, and three great-grandchildren, Dakoda Kai, Duxton Martinez, and Echo Hicks.
She was preceded in death by her father Jon B. Gunther, mother Karma J. Jones (Gunther), her two brothers, Craig Malmberg and Jon Russell Gunther, and her eldest daughter, Janet Lynn Kay (Stoddard).

Services will take place Monday, December 20, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. with viewings before 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 5865 S. 1900 W. Roy, Utah. Mary will be buried in Malad, Idaho on December 22, 2021 at 1:00 p.m.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
