After five inventive and fabulous years of serialization, the Dr Stone manga series has officially ended this week with the release of chapter 232.
Dr Stone has been, is and will always be one of the most unique and innovative manga series in the world.
From the very first chapter, the series took a fresh perspective to the end of the world; rebuilding it block by block with boy-genius Senku.
However, all good things must come to a close, with the Dr Stone manga officially ending this week with the release of chapter 232 in Japan.

Dr Stone manga has ended with chapter 232
Last week, it was officially confirmed the hit manga series Dr Stone would reach its final ever chapter in the most-recent edition of the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine.

The 13th volume of the 2022 WSJ magazine featured chapter 232 of Dr Stone’s manga, a 26-pages long goodbye that also included a special color page on the magazine’s cover.
The final ever chapter of Dr Stone was released on Sunday, March 6thin line with the series’ fifth-year anniversary.

Illustrator Boichi’s added his comments from the upcoming WSJ volume, “The past 5 years with Dr. STONE has been outstanding, amazing, thrilling, and dynamic!”
However, fans should note that there will technically be one more chapter from the Dr Stone manga series. According to the WSJ Twitter page, a special one-shot chapter will be released in Summer 2022 alongside a special anime episode.
How to read the Dr Stone manga in English
The final chapter in the Dr Stone manga series (chapter 232) has been released in English for free on Viz Media and Manga Plus.
Users can access the first and latest three chapters for free on both platforms, with access to the entire digital catalog of chapters requiring a subscription which currently costs just $1.99 a month.
Chapter 232 will be included in volume 26 of the manga series, which is reported to release in Japan on July 4th.
As of March 7th, 20 volumes have been published in English, with volume 21 set to release on May 3rd2022 – the release dates for the remaining volumes have not yet been confirmed.
Physical copies of manga volumes can be purchased through Amazon, Book Depository, Waterstones, Bookshop and at your local comic shop.

The Dr Stone series has been a staple of the manga and anime community since its launch back in 2017 and 2019 respectively.
As of April 2021, Dr Stone had sold more than 10 million physical copies around the world and has reportedly rose to 12 million as of March 2022.
With an 8.22/10 rating on MyAnimeList across 66,000 reviews, the manga is actually rated as the 46th most popular series of all time!
Dr Stone was also named as Barnes & Noble’s favorite manga of 2018 and even won the Best Shonen Award at the 64th Shogakukan Manga Awards in 2019.
The anime adaptation has closely followed the success of the manga series, scoring an 8.3/10 on IMDB and MyAnimeList; with season 2 scoring an 8.19/10 with over 370,000 reviews.
Dr Stone also appeared on both Crunchyroll and IGN’s best anime series of the 2010s.

After such a long and successful run as a serialized manga series, it’s understandable that Dr Stone fans around the world are a little saddened by the ending.
However, the legacy of any series is determined by that same reaction from the community when a project concludes. Thankfully, Dr Stone and its production team have received an incredible response from fans around the world, with many thanking Inagaki for his time and work.
