There are many elegant styles to choose from from luxurious marble and rich woods to fluted finishes and brilliant colours. In addition to the huge selection of copper utensils and bathroom sinks now on offer. But before you rush to choose interesting things, it is important to consider the practical aspects.
“The more storage space you have, the more you tend to fill it up, says Hayley Robson. We always start by seeing what people are storing in their current bathroom. 7. Embrace texture

The materials used in the design of this bathroom reflect the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi, which finds beauty in imperfection and impermanence in nature. One of the main bathroom trends right now, the wood has been treated with a fine lime finish to highlight the grain.
“Texture is popular right now in bathrooms,” says Hayley Robson, co-founder, Day True. “Like the grooved fronts on the vanity furniture, as well as natural wood tones, which provide longevity and can help soften a space.”
8. Introduce neutrals

Color is back in the bathroom in a big way. From pastel pink to charcoal gray bathroom ideas and all shades in between, the clinical white space has retreated. But if you err on the side of soothing spaces and don’t want your new scheme to be updated too soon, stick to neutrals on the more permanent parts.
“We didn’t want anything to be contrasting, so we used a blended palette of neutrals,” says Gunter & Co co-founder Erin Gunter. Black features match the modern architectural language, while bronze brings warmth.

Washbasins and vanity units often require excavation on site to create a pit or waste holes, so it’s important to take the time to determine exactly where you want to place the sink or bowls you plan to use, and if you want to include any bathroom shelving ideas as well.
“Consider whether your faucets will be wall-mounted or deck-mounted, and make room for things like soap dispensers, toothbrush holders, etc.,” says Colin Roby-Welford, Creative Director of Fired Earth. “Marble is a beautiful material, but in its natural form it is porous, so it needs a bit more maintenance than something like marble-effect porcelain,” says Emma Scott, Director of Design, CB Hart. No harsh chemicals should be used on marble, and it should be cleaned with a soft damp cloth and neutral cleaning products. The water should not be left to sit on and the sealant should be applied every six months.

By choosing earthy or natural tones in the bathroom, you’ll create a timeless space with longevity. ‘Bathrooms have to stand the test of time, because it’s not something we have to change every two years as trends and fashion change,’ says Hayley Robson, co-founder, Day True.
“Monochrome is also a timeless palette, and can be softened by using pale white and warm gray as opposed to black and white. Texture and contrast help create an interesting space that will look modern and less likely to date. Color can be introduced through the design, towels, greenery, and artwork, which can be Change or update easily with directions.
Emma Scott, Director of Design, CB Hart adds, “A good vanity unit is something you’ll want to last for years and through fashion trends. If you like bold colors, it might be best to add it by painting the walls or with colorful tiles. Keep the vanity a neutral color or Natural material and will last longer.
