Pascagoula, Miss (AP) – Several redevelopment projects in Pascagoula are expected to continue in 2022.
Gulflive.com reports that projects that include apartments, commercial space and a boutique hotel are expected to start soon.
The city’s downtown area is experiencing explosive growth, said Michael Silverman, city manager for Pascagoula.
The projects include City Center, which will feature 28 residential units, a rooftop bar, a café and office space.
A boutique hotel, the Whiskey Hotel, is also planned in the city center. It will include a mix of hotel and apartment units, a swimming pool and two retail spaces off Delmas Street.

A site on Pascagoula Street will be converted into four apartments and an indoor event space. The retail space will include White Pelican, an interior design store that sells furniture, home goods, apparel, gifts and accessories.
District Flats, a brick building with a courtyard, will be renovated into six residential units and office space.
Delo in Delmas, a coffee shop, also planned in the city center.
Also, nine new homes are being built along the Pascagoula River.
Mississippi lawmakers allocated $7.4 million to the Pascagoula Redevelopment Authority last year for use in the downtown area. The news site reported that about $3 million of that came from Gulf Coast Recovery Funds. Another $4.4 million came from the bond issuance.
Pascagoula is a city of about 20,000 people along the coast of the Mississippi Gulf, about 180 miles (290 kilometers) southeast of Jackson.
