CLEVELAND, Ohio — Nine members of the Ball State women’s volleyball program have been named to the 2021 Academic All-Mid-American Conference team as announced Wednesday (January 12) by the league’s bureau.

The Academic All-MAC Honor is dedicated to the student-athlete who excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have a GPA of at least 3.20 and have participated in at least 50 percent of competitions for that particular sport. First-year players and junior college transfers are not eligible.
Huber, Mitchem, Plitt, Risi, and Starck took home the honor for the second consecutive season, while the rest of the Ball State honorees are first-time winners.
During her six seasons as head coach, Kelly Miller Phillips She helped her student-athletes earn a total of 46 academic picks for all MACs.
