Looking Lake | Flato Architects is looking for a vibrant and dynamic interior designer to join an award-winning sustainable design practice in our offices in Austin and San Antonio, Texas.
The ideal candidates will demonstrate a commitment to excellence
in Interiors and Architectural Furnishings along with proven experience in Architectural Interiors project workflow. Successful candidates should have 3 to 6 years of experience working collaboratively with creative teams that share our focus on vibrant and sustainable architecture. Candidates must be beginners, enjoy collaborating with other talented designers, and be part of the team.
Job title:
The focus of the average interior designer will be on managing, sourcing and documenting the scope of interior design. This will include, final selections and specifications, customer display panels, documentation of all materials with knowledge of details and coordination of specifications. All fixtures, furniture and equipment selections along with specifications will be documented and coordinated throughout the design process as well as in CA. Knowledge of the purchasing process will be required. Projects will vary from multiple project types but with a focus on higher education, STEM, Studio Arts, and collaborative/activity-based work environments. Candidates are not required to have extensive experience in these project types, but must display design competence with the ability to apply impact to a wide range of user needs in a variety of areas and context.

Position Responsibilities:
Collaborate with project teams in selecting, coordinating and documenting interior architectural finishes
• Collaborate with project teams and lead efforts related to the selection, coordination, documentation and procurement of fixtures, furniture and equipment
(FF&E).
• Provide design knowledge on interior lighting and the integrated environmental graphic design process’ with the design team and management consultants in this area of design.
• Leads in the production of architectural interior documentation including coordinating interior elevations and business case design strategies in coordination with FF&E Package.
• Coordinating FF&E efforts through the design process, managing delivery and installation during the CA phase
• Participate in ongoing design discussions on several projects to contribute to the interior design dialogue.
