Back Yard Burgers, the leader in the “best burger” category and a popular brand known for its flame-grilled burgers, continues its plans to expand with new and remodeled locations in 2022, including updating its first location in Cleveland, Mississippi which it began in 1987. After Opening its Harrisburg, North Carolina, location in June 2021, the upcoming openings of Back Yard Burgers will also feature new design and technical elements that improve the overall guest experience and employee operations.

The Back Yard Burgers team aims to open a brand new location in Kingsport, Tennessee, in early 2022. Existing locations that will be redesigned to provide guests and staff with an updated experience include Meridian, Mississippi; Byram, Mississippi; Batesville, Mississippi; Clarksdale, Mississippi; and Cleveland, Mississippi. Back Yard Burgers destinations are expected to open their doors in early to mid 2022. Guests across the Southeast can expect more grand openings later this year.
Offering a backyard feel that has been a hallmark of the brand since its inception, each of these locations features updated interior and exterior designs as well as new technology, signage and landscaping, including the following:
- Updated interior design featuring pergolas that bring the outdoors indoors
- Modern exterior with a combination of brick, wood and metal
- Request no call for guests to dine soon
- Indoor seating for up to 60 guests, some locations offer outdoor seating
The menu at Back Yard Burgers continues to include a 100 percent Black Angus Beef burger cooked over an open flame with flavors like Classic, Honey BBQ, Black Jack, Mushroom Swiss, and Black & Bleu.
In addition to the beef burger, Backyard Burger offers chicken sandwiches and a black bean burger. For dessert, guests can choose from Fresh Baked Cobbler (flavors change daily) or a hand-dipped milkshake that includes vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, and Oreo chocolate.
