Owner Edward Short, 52, followed his dream of turning a lighthouse into a home that eventually tore his family apart and cost him his marriage.
Now the owner is able to put the Chesil Cliff House and its annex The Eye on the open market at a guide price of £10m after heartbreak and the sheer determination of a decade of renovations.
Real estate consultancy Knight Frank confirmed that it is scheduled to be completed in early spring this year.
A Knight Frank spokesperson said: “The Chesil Cliff House sits on three acres between surfers’ paradise Saunton Sands backed by the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in Braunton Burrows, and idyllic Croyde Bay, behind which lies National Trust-owned Baggie Target.

Last year, Grand Designs host Kevin McCloud revealed that he plans to revisit the lighthouse after a tale of woe that affected viewers across the country.
He told House Beautiful: “I loved Edward so much and he is such an extraordinary human being that he has now been able to pick this project back up and run it again with more funding. He’s still building and now we’re talking about going back and doing another program with him on the same project, how about that?” “
