CES is often dominated by traditional big character ads from AMD, Intel, and Nvidia, but also when manufacturers produce the oddly cool. Take the CyberPowerPC series gaming PCs, for example, which are built with the philosophy that the company’s words are not about maximum airflow but “smart airflow” instead.
If nothing else, the CyberPowerPC kinetic case is stunning in looks and has the aesthetics of a Deus Ex. Each of the case’s 18 dynamic vents open and close based on the computer’s ambient temperature, and can cleverly adjust their position to suit.
Inspired by kinetic architecture designs such as those seen in modern sea and satellite towers, CyberPowerPC creative director Nam Huang says the company not only wanted to “add more airflow, but wanted a case that dynamically provides the right airflow for the situation in real time.” Present”.
It’s not clear what kind of thermal performance gains, if any, this type of design can offer, but we’ve reached out to CyberPowerPC for comment. We are also concerned about the apparent lack of a dust filter, as well as the number of points of failure introduced by the mass amount of moving parts in the kinematic chain case.
CyberPowerPC hasn’t said how much this case will cost or when it will actually hit the market, following a public announcement “soon.” However, we’d like to give the company props to at least try something different, as the case design has become fairly simple homogeneously over the past decade or so.
