The Chelsea Area Garden Club (CAGC) will award a limited number of grants of up to $500 in 2022 to local nonprofit organizations for sustainable horticultural projects. The application deadline is February 15, 2022.
Grants support projects that promote a love of gardening, community beautification, environmentally responsible gardening practices, and conservation through education and example. Applications and information about the Annual Scholarship Program are available at www.chelseagardenclub.com.
Applications should be mailed to CAGC Grant Program, c/o Cheryl Wells, 98 Cedar Lake Rd, Chelsea, MI 48118. Preference will be given to applicants in the CAGC Service Area – Chelsea and Western Washington County.
Participation in the Garden Club includes providing educational programs, community participation through civic beautification, grants and scholarships for horticulture. In the fall CAGC planted more than 1,700 tulips and spring flowers in the Chelsea City Beds and Chelsea County Library plantations. The CAGC annually designs and equips the summer town and annual beds for the library. Horticultural scholarships are awarded to local nonprofit organizations that initiate projects that benefit the community and align with CAGC’s mission and goals. CAGC presented the arts at the Garden Advantage Tour last July for the benefit of CSC Intergenerational Park.
