Two steel gates salute the owners of the Brandau home
Embraced at the base of the camel mountain in the phoenix, Arizona, the renovated 1960 Brando Accommodation 180° design + construction that wraps around a rocky landscape. With the aim of capturing the grandeur of the surroundings, a balanced relationship is created between the street and the architecture, signifying a spatial experience through and around it. The large patio that welcomes the owners and guests is complemented by bright yellow flowers that lead into the secluded interior.

When the mountain reveals itself, the house of brandy stands like a monolith among the rocks. Founded in 2001 and headquartered in Phoenix, 180 degree design + construction It strives to design unforgettable spaces for any user. In this project, the journey begins as the visitor ascends through the first of two custom-made steel gates. Through the concrete path and the ironwood trees show key stopping moments that provide endless views of the landscape. Painted in a dark velor color to imitate desert plants, the second gate frames the main entrance.

Residence maximizes views of the red mountains outdoors
Once inside, a simple maneuver around the suspended fireplace indicates the roofline’s slope upward to reveal the dynamic vertical face of the mountain. The minimalist home plays with the reconfiguration of the space which in turn creates opportunities for flexibility – private and inviting. Through frameless glass windows and sliding doors, views to the backyard are maximized. With the advent of modern expression, the intersections between the structural mass of the house and the surrounding area continue to evolve.
