This $25 Million Hamptons Home Will Be Built on an Old Racetrack – Robb Report

It is one thing to have a home with a spacious parking garage; It’s another thing to live on the lands of an ancient path. Those who want to be a part of motoring history in the Hamptons are in luck, then, as there are plans to build a home on one of the old racetracks in the Tony neighborhood. While it won’t be completed until 2023, you can get it now for $25 million.

The plans chart a 5,204-square-foot mansion with five bedrooms, six full and half baths. With a total area of ​​3.8 acres, the property is one of twelve homes that developer Robert Rubin has planned on a larger lot. Years ago, the site was home to Bridgehampton Racecourse, which was once called “America’s most challenging track” by British Formula 1 driver Stirling Moss. It was eventually closed in 1970, and since then much of the land has been converted into luxury golf courses (obviously homes and condos).

Even if you’re not a racing fan, home is an impressive prospect. It promises an elevator connecting all its floors – the large room will be on the first floor with a marble fireplace, while the kitchen will be on the second – plus an outdoor deck, heated pool and pool connected to the house. Obviously, given the history of the land, there will be a separate three-car garage as well. His design comes from Roger Ferris + Partners, a local architectural firm that has worked on many contemporary mansions on the east and west coasts.

The mansion will limit a golf club that the future owner can join for $1.5 million plus $40,000 per year in dues, per The Wall Street Journal. There are a few perks that come with membership, including access to a golf course and tennis courts. Unfortunately, there is no racetrack on that list, but that likely won’t stop a future buyer of this property from shelling out.
