The firm’s team of more than 100 architects and designers offers complete packages of architecture and interior design for residential and commercial projects of every type and size.

Our New York office is looking for a Senior/Medium Interior Designer with significant design skills to support the Hospitality + Office Interior Design team with a focus on FF&E. We are looking for a detail-oriented, entrepreneurial, and well-experienced designer. The position entails project management throughout the project from concept to installation, including vendor communications and procurement.

Working with the project team, the right candidate must possess a good spatial sense, eye for detail, and a strong ability to communicate graphically. Knowledge of the FF&E interior design selection and design process is required as well as the more technical aspect of the design (construction documents, details, plans, elevations, etc.). The candidate must possess a strong ability to shift gears between metrics and project phases with enthusiasm and work on multiple projects simultaneously. Interest and experience in hospitality and corporate interiors, including public rest areas, is preferred.

Responsibilities include:

• Working with 3D models in Sketch-up + rendering via Adobe Photoshop
• Collaborate and work well with others in a “studio” environment; Sharing Ideas + Creating a Strategy to Communicate a Successful Story
• Lead with sourcing furniture, fabric, art and interior finishes
• The leader in custom furniture design for specific projects
• Leadership in designing and preparing presentations for clients using Adobe InDesign
• Create furniture and elevation plans in AutoCAD and view them in Photoshop
• Researching and maintaining relationships with furniture, textile and sourcing vendors/craftsmen

Purchase and installation

• Request quotations
• Create detailed RFP documents (Microsoft Excel) for bidding for furniture dealers
• Request samples and CFAs
• Make sure the seller’s order is correct and the expected delivery date
• Compilation of specification books for purchasing agents
• Participate in the installation on the site
• Constant communication with furniture dealer + manufacturers to ensure 100% project completion and customer satisfaction

Successful candidates must have the following qualifications:

• 4-6 years professional experience in the United States
• Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD, Google Sketch-Up, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Microsoft Excel
• Ability to solve problems and work in a fast-paced collaborative environment
• Interior design or architecture degree required
