Wendy Langston, founder of interior design and renovation firm Everything Home, has long been considered a “brand within a brand”.
The company is a subsidiary of the custom home builder, Heartwood Custom Homes, and has never had the opportunity to connect with clients directly. Until now.
Everything in the house gets a new 2,600-square-foot home at the Indiana Design Center in the Carmel Arts and Design District.
“The design center’s unique ownership and destination in Indiana was really compelling to me compared to the traditional retail space in a mall,” said Langston. “I think[the showroom]will really give me a chance to design the merchandise and show what we’re doing.”
Langston remains the principal designer of Heartwood Custom Homes and provides design and furnishing services for 50 to 70 custom homes each year.
While modular homes offer them the ability to showcase everything in-home services and skills to dedicated home customers, the new hybrid showroom space will allow the company to operate a single consumer-friendly store for its direct customers.
When the showroom opens in the spring of 2022, shoppers will be able to browse several full posters of everything in the home furniture, complete with lighting, accessories, decor, art, and rugs for purchase. The space will also be home to the company’s design studio, with the on-site design team completing consultations and meetings.
One of our core values focuses on transformative living. “We strongly believe that the space you live in truly creates your own well-being,” Langston said. “When we define what a customer is looking to achieve, we have the tools in the toolbox to help them achieve it. This can be a complete revamp or help with a choice experience so that customers have a completely full space when we are done and their vision has come true.”
Located at 200 South Ringline Road, the Indiana Design Center houses more than 15 showrooms to provide visitors with access to residential and commercial design products from national and local firms. Carmel-based property management firm Pedcor Companies operates the Indiana Design Center and considers the new showroom space a win for all involved.
“We’ve been talking with Everything Home for some time, trying to figure out the appropriate location and timeframe,” said Melissa Afritt, Senior Vice President, Pedcor Companies. As in all real estate transactions, it should work out well for both parties. The stars lined up to find (Langston) the right square foot I needed at this point.”
For Langston, spring can’t come soon enough. Until then, she and the Everything Home brand will continue to work with construction and direct customers.
“It is very exciting to expand, test our brand directly with consumers, and adapt and learn from them,” Langston said.
