- Incorporating light woods into designs, whether they are in one room or in part of a room
- Greater interest in handicrafts of the ancient world with different inlays, patterns or even tones
- With supply chain interruptions and timber prices rising, homeowners are recycling flea market finds from reclaimed timber
Bringing nature indoors By incorporating the elements of nature in the interior, homeowners will continue to embrace the “vital design” philosophy rather than simply mimicking the colors found on the outside.
- Maximizing the use of local organic materials while maximizing sunlight, fresh air, plants and other natural elements inside the home
- More place-based relationships between homes and the distinctive geographic and ecological features surrounding the home
- Incorporating natural forms and shapes into architecture
Kitchens – anything but white (mostly) in cupboards and countertops – Homeowners are tired of all-white kitchens and counters—they want to add some spice.
- Expect painted or wood cabinets in attractive, warm and neutral colors, worktops will feature alternative material options while granite remains popular
- Mixing two countertop materials will gain in popularity – ie, granite and hardwood countertops for the kitchen island
Maximum progression starts against minimum – The cap will be adopted as seen in a bohemian cottage or ornate English mansion as it provides individual expression and conveys the freedom to flaunt personality.
- As the stock of new furniture dwindles, the demand for high-quality antiques and antiques will increase
