When a New York City advertising executive asked Inya White to help remodel the bathrooms in her 2,600-square-foot townhouse in Brooklyn’s Prospect Left Gardens, the Queens-based designer Anya White Interiors– Starting to convert old spaces into luxury retreats. “The home has been in the family for several generations, so our client decided to update the bathrooms to fit her personal style and consider the space’s aging as we moved into the bathroom renovations,” says White.

while the Honor the next wave Converting the first bathroom into a new bathroom and dreamy pink escape (Filled with a modern bow and ample hidden storage), she decided to go in a slightly different direction with her sister space, opting for a matching color palette of black and mauve with brushed nickel accents for a more subtle look. “The client wanted to personalize the bathroom without making it feel too modern,” she explains.
For a complete gut, the homeowner really wanted the 150-square-foot space to reflect a “dynamic blend of texture, pattern, and color,” notes White. So the designer seamlessly combined Handmade Tile Bar ceramic tiles with a bold black and white print from Popham Tiles for walls and floors, respectively. “She’s a collector of art, and we found these floor tiles to mimic something an artist might paint—organic!” White says. As in the other bathroom in the house, Sulking Room Pink – a soft and muted pink from Farrow and Bowl— Everything can be done together.
“The highlight of this bathroom is the overall design, but the floor tile is the star of the show,” the white zeal of the space, accessed from the second-floor entrance and two different bedrooms. The bathtub floats in the center of the space, while the vanity sits across from the shower head. “There are three entrances to the bathroom, so we created the footprint and made it work for us!”
