giddy. Western apparel retailer Lucchese opened its first brick-and-mortar store in Denver over the weekend at 1883 16th Street, just in time for the 2022 Western National Stock Fair in January.
“With its vast open spaces, vast ranches, and a rich western history, Colorado is a natural fit for Lucchese,” said Shannon McGimsey, director of retail, in a statement. Here or at the annual stock fair. We look forward to being able to serve our customers, locals and travelers alike, at this new store.”
The 138-year-old, Texas-based retailer sells shoes, clothing, homeware, and accessories. Customers can order custom boots and the Denver store has been decorated with five new cowboy hat necklaces, designed specifically for Denver, according to a release.
New appointments
Denver-based JNS Architecture + Interior Design has hired two interior designers and an architecture intern, according to a release.
The new interior designers are Jessica Sweda, who recently worked for a local multi-family interior design firm, and Kayla Goldberg, who hailed from San Francisco and helped design the interiors of the Hilton Garden Inn Boulder, Embassy Suites by Hilton Boulder and The Fitzgerald.
Architectural intern Adriana Oñate has worked as a manufacturing designer and has produced shop drawings, fabrication and digital prototyping for projects such as Meow Wolf.
“As we continue to expand our reach nationally with projects in emerging neighborhoods across the country, we are excited to strengthen our team with new talent. JNS Partner Nicole Nathan said in a statement that the additions of Jessica, Kayla and Adriana will continue to build on our creativity and enhance Our ability to design.” Their backgrounds, fresh perspectives, and enthusiasm add great depth and provide value additions to the company.
JNS specializes in hospitality, multi-family and mixed-use projects across the country, including The Crawford and The Maven in downtown Denver.

Promising to bring the “golden age of cocktails and art” to downtown Denver, BEZEL opened at the Sheraton Denver Downtown earlier this month, just off Court Place and 16th Street Mall.
The drink menu offers “beloved classics, original 21st-century creations, and carefully crafted cocktails,” according to a release. Opens after 5pm from Thursday to Saturday.
“We are thrilled to help bring this new and beautifully designed cocktail concept to downtown Denver, creating a truly welcoming environment for every occasion from the night to casual happy hours, to private parties, great bar meals, live music and innovative drinks,” Kendra Anderson Co-Founder and Managing Partner of MQ Hospitality Consulting Group.
The menu includes “fantastic appetizer order” and “small plates” of salmon crudo, bison sliders, Colorado lamb chops, and wagyu flat irons.
“BEZEL creates a complete sensory experience that begins upon entering the home and is greeted by meticulously appointed staff and an amazing space followed by a food and beverage experience that inspires and combines a unique blend of nostalgia for bygone eras,” said General Manager Raven Bozel.
