Dubai, December 10, 2021 (WAM) – The jury in the second session of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) for university students to design solar-powered homes praised the distinguished and global efforts. Creative designs submitted by students.
The jury said that this year’s competition attracted distinguished models of smart and sustainable homes that achieve a high level of efficiency and economic value.
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority organized the SDME exhibition under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, within the framework of a partnership between the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority and the Supreme Council of Energy in Dubai and the United States. SDME encourages participating teams to design, build and operate sustainable models of cost-effective and energy-efficient solar-powered homes, with a focus on protecting the environment, while considering the region’s climate.
The participating teams competed in 10 competitions: architecture; engineering and construction energy management; Energy Efficiency Convenience Conditions Home Work Sustainable Transportation; sustainability; Communication and innovation.
