With a new OVA episode on the horizon for the hit anime ‘Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation’, fans are getting curious about season 2. <\/strong><\/p>\n

One of the very best anime from 2021 was the adaptation of Rifujin na Magonote’s hit series, Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation<\/em>.<\/p>\n

However, when the second cour concluded in December, fans were desperate to know if season 2 had already been confirmed. <\/p>\n

Fast forward to March 2022 and we have news of a special OVA episode being released on March 16th as part of the 4th Blu-ray DVD volume. <\/p>\n

So, has Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation been renewed for season 2 and what date could it potentially release online?<\/p>\n

\nMushoku Tensei season 2 and 3 already in production<\/strong>says leaker <\/h2>\n

At the time of writing, updated in March 2022, Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation has not been publicly renewed for season 2 by Studio Bind, EGG FIRM or Kadokawa. <\/p>\n

However, there are a number of reports circulating online that the second anime season, as well as the third, could already be in production. <\/p>\n

Popular Twitter page and typically-reliable ‘leaker’ \u201cSugoiLITE\u201d shared<\/a> all the way back in May 2021 that \u201cTV anime \u201cMushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation\u201d Seasons 2 & 3 are currently in production.\u201d<\/p>\n

Whilst this information may not be officially confirmed just yet, the future appears extremely bright for the Mushoku Tensei series. This is because anime renewal typically depends on two factors, popularity and source material \u2013 both of which the series has plenty of.<\/p>\n

According to Anime Geek, the season 1 finale of Mushoku Tensei finished by adapting up until volume 6 of the original light novel series, which is volume 10 in the ongoing manga adaptation.<\/p>\n

The good news is that, at the time of writing, 25 volumes of the light novel and 16 volumes of the manga have been published in Japan, meaning there is plenty of source material left to adapt for TV!<\/p>\n

Popularity is another factor that Mushoku Tensei has on its side. Whilst Funimation may not publicly reveal their viewership for simulcast titles, it’s obvious that the series has been adored by millions of fans around the world.<\/p>\n

The series is currently scoring an 8.5\/10 on IMDB and an 8.77\/10 on MyAnimeList with over 271,000 reviews; ratings typically high enough to merit a renewal. The series has also been widely popular domestically in Japan, reportedly regularly topping the weekly television rankings.<\/p>\n

This is all, of course, in addition to the teaser for season 2 that featured at the end of episode 23; with Redeus set to attend the University of Magic (the next story arc in the light novel series). <\/p>\n

Overall, it should only be a matter of time before Mushoku Tensei is renewed for another season, but if the series is set to return as expected, when date could season 2 release?<\/p>\n

Predicting a release date for Mushoku Tensei season 2<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The anime adaptation of the Mushoku Tensei series was first announced in March 2019 and was originally scheduled to premiere in 2020, before the ongoing coronavirus pandemic forced a delay until January 2021.<\/p>\n

The pandemic continued to cause problems for the series, delaying its second cour’s return from July to October of last year as well.<\/p>\n

However, the extra time in production, alongside the supposed ‘leak’ from SugoiLITE does indicate that work on any potential future seasons may have already started.<\/p>\n

This, coupled with the availability of source material, will likely mean that fans won’t have to wait for aeons for the hit series to return.<\/p>\n

Based on the production schedule from season 1, HITC predicts that Mushoku Tensei season 2 will release in October 2022, as part of the Fall broadcasting slate, or January 2023 as part of the winter schedule.<\/p>\n
