Channel 4’s George Clarke is back on our televisions tonight helping couples to build their dream homes which has shed the light on previous houses which are from London.<\/p>\n

Some of the houses within the capital were of hot talking point with some of them going over budget by up to \u00a31.5m and others which were made completely out of glass.<\/p>\n

One extraordinary house even had its own spa and disco room and was being put on the market late last year for \u00a33.85m.<\/p>\n

One breath-taking South London build, by Leigh Osborne and his partner Graham Voce, who risked everything they had to transform a 100ft tower into a family home.<\/p>\n

They bought it for \u00a3380,000 and expected to spend \u00a3600,000 on the revamp. But the total bill for the refit of the Grade II listed building would eventually come out at a staggering \u00a32 million.<\/p>\n

A two-storey glass cube with the largest set of sliding doors in Europe was added, and the 24ft living room boasts 360-degree views of London.<\/p>\n

Spread over 10 floors, the five-bedroom, four-bathroom property went on the market last year for \u00a33.6 million.<\/p>\n

Carl Turner created the low energy “Slip House” as an example of a modern approach to terraced housing in Brixton.<\/p>\n

Made of milky, translucent glass, steel and concrete, it spans three floors and features solar-powered heating, rain harvesting and mechanical ventilation heat recovery.<\/p>\n

One other house that grabbed attention on the show was aptly labelled \u201cthe house of fun\u201d and was the brainchild of couple Ian Hogarth and Claire Farrow who decided to take a punt on transforming their glitzy West London abode into something even more spectacular.<\/p>\n

According to estate agents, The Modern House, the property is one of “rare personality.”<\/p>\n

Their listing read: “At the end of Russell Gardens Mews, a traditional, cobbled no-through lane in Kensington, lies this exuberant four-bedroom house by architect Ian Hogarth.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt extends to over 3,120 sq ft internally, with two lower levels of sociable space and an integrated garage, and enjoys a wealth of wonderful interactions with its surroundings, including the enclosed private garden.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a family home of rare personality and inimitable fun; enhanced all the more by the spa, cinema and the under-lit dance floor that made it such a memorable feature on Grand Designs in 2011.”<\/p>\n
