Aside from working on ‘Black-ish’, Martin made headlines in 2019 as she became the youngest executive producer to make a major production with her movie ‘Little’ (via CNN). It’s no surprise that with so many successful projects under her belt, she’ll take on another one.<\/p>\n
According to The Root, Martin has a new interior design demo coming to streaming platform Discovery+ on January 15. It’s called “Remix My Space with Marsai Martin” and is in no way a design show outside Martin’s cockpit. She shared, “You know me through roles in film and TV, yes, the acting is great,” adding, “But I’m really obsessed with design. A teen’s room should be their haven, so I amaze the amazing people who are doing incredible things for our world.”<\/p>\n
The show is revolutionary because home design shows tend to be underrepresented when it comes to race. Not only will Martin help teens, an overlooked demographic, but she will also do so as one of the first women of color to host a home design show.<\/p>\n
“The best part about remixing teen rooms\u2014besides all the great things I’m still learning about design\u2014is that it helps them transition into their future,” she said. “These wonderful people are so busy living their best lives and helping others that their havens are left in the past.
