The Residences at The St Regis Chicago, consisting of three interconnected towers with a central suspended trunk, are located within the 101-story building, above Chicago’s East Lakeshore neighborhood. The building is a gravity-defying visual masterpiece developed by Magellan Development Group, designed by acclaimed architecture practice Studio Gang and realized by bKL Architecture. Designed as a series of stacked and intertwined frustums, its fa\u00e7ade hosts a dynamic play of light and shadow, reflecting the endless blue of the lake and the sky unfolding in front of it. With its shimmering, stepped shape, the skyscraper is gaining attention as the city’s third tallest building, forever changing the downtown skyline as Chicago’s legacy of architectural innovation continues.<\/p>\n

Within the architectural statement are 393 homes, spacious 47th-floor resident space and residential common areas – all designed by HBA Los Angeles, seamlessly marrying contemporary style with streamlined execution. The use of architectural details and finishes emphasizes sweeping views, resulting in the highest quality residential interiors on the Chicago market. Drawing on the building’s elegant exterior, the design studio has guided the interiors by the beauty and energy of four distinct gemstones: sapphire, amethyst, topaz and fluorite. Gemstones emphasize the color palettes of interiors from the subtle hues of sapphire to the romantic tones of amethyst and the rich layering inspired by fluorite.<\/p>\n

Each residence is individually exquisite, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows for panoramic views of the Chicago skyline, lakefront, and Navy Pier along with gourmet kitchens, spa-inspired bathrooms, and carefully curated details throughout. The residences consist of one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom homes as well as 20 single-story penthouses, which feature 360-degree views of Chicago and beyond.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe discovered the essential splendor that exists in nature by examining the crystals, minerals and gemstones and the radioactive properties they exude, which then informed us of our design decision to write a story behind each finishing package,\u201d said Kathleen Dober, partner at HBA Los Angeles. \u201cThe overarching narrative is a cognizant response to the site, the architecture and the overarching vision. This project is built on craftsmanship and a shared aspiration to achieve the exceptional. We at HBA are very proud to be a part of it.\u201d<\/p>\n

The clean lines of the interior architecture relate to the building’s modernity and blend form with function. Ceiling heights are maximized throughout to compliment the building’s elevated volume. In the lobbies, natural stone walls provide luxury while entry gates are framed in rich wood for depth and dimension. On the 47th floor, there is a residents-only space with amenities such as a sky terrace with outdoor pool, private residents’ lounge and dining room, demonstration kitchen, state-of-the-art fitness center, conference center, private viewing room, golf lounge, children’s activity room and wine tasting room.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe residences have every possible amenity a resident could want, and more,\u201d Dober continued. “With so many spaces within the amenity suite, we chose a vocabulary of flow that intuitively guides the resident and guest. We built the architectural finish panel used on the lobby floor and put in additional details for each area such as textured stone, adding revealing and metallic accents.”<\/p>\n

Luxurious on every level and meticulous in detail, The Residences is imbued with classic sophistication and modern sensibility. The stepped angles of the three interlocking towers combine together to create a multi-dimensional footprint of the building and to maximize open corner views. Offering options without compromise, the four distinct design boards created by HBA Los Angeles stand the test of time today.<\/p>\n
