Depending on the type of pillow you have, the padding can flatten, form lumps and bumps, and can lose its support. <\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re not sure, try the fold test if you own a cotton or polyester pillow &#8211; fold it in in the middle and if it stays in place, you need a new one.  For other types of pillows like fluff or flexi foam pillows, they basically won&#8217;t be as good as they used to.  You may be awake with neck pain, or notice lumps in the filling.
