December 28, 2021, 17:15<\/time>\n <\/p>\nNew city planning initiatives were presented today at the meeting of the Interagency Council responsible for the implementation of the cooperation agreement between Saint Petersburg and Gazprom.<\/p>\n
As part of Gazprom’s large-scale architectural and artistic lighting efforts for historic sites, central streets and new areas of the city, a new lighting concept for the St. Petersburg TV Tower using kinetic panels has been unveiled.<\/p>\n
With a total area of \u200b\u200b14,568 square metres, the kinetic media facade will produce a \u201cliving creature\u201d effect with moving reflectors and LED lights that change their colors in unison.<\/p>\n
As a result, the geometric structure that serves as a digital television transmitter will take its rightful place among the architectural monuments of the city.<\/p>\n
With the aim of further developing the social and business district that was created around Lakhta Centre, a third skyscraper concept was unveiled. With the new skyscraper, a harmonious architectural ensemble of three modern skyscrapers will appear on the coast of the Gulf of Finland.<\/p>\n
The balanced, practical and elegant architectural composition of the new tower approaches the golden ratio. The tower is shaped like an exponential logarithmic spiral. The skyscraper has two wings intertwined around transparent closed lobbies.<\/p>\n
Rising to the top of the helix, the tower’s wings intersect at focal points and merge together to form the lobby lounges. Each lobby creates an inflection point that separates the tower into seven groups. As the lobbies move up the tower, they come closer to each other, and each lower group is the length of two upper groups combined, in line with the principle of the golden ratio. This solution makes it possible to place most public places at the highest viewing levels.<\/p>\n
The tower design solution is based on an innovative diagonal scheme that supports and stabilizes the building rather than a standard central structural core. The rising heights help “defusing” the wind loads that affect tall buildings. Light frames are used to support the open columns of panoramic elevators.<\/p>\n
According to the concept, the tower will have a height of 555 meters (108 levels) and a total area of \u200b\u200bu200bu200babout 179,000 square meters. The three-storey style will house service and parking facilities. The top floor of the building is located at a height of 453 meters and will contain an observation gallery.<\/p>\n
The new high-rise building will be in dialogue with the elegant curves of the already built Lakhta Center and the spiral shape of the projected Lakhta 2 Centre.<\/p>\n
Architectural collections have been a mainstay of Saint Petersburg since its founding. In keeping with this tradition of city planning, a modern architectural ensemble is now being constructed on the coast of the Gulf of Finland to view Saint Petersburg from the seashore.<\/p>\n

The architectural concept of Lakhta Center 2 was unveiled on May 25, 2021, at the meeting of the Interagency Council responsible for the implementation of the cooperation agreement between Saint Petersburg and Gazprom. The height of the building will be 703 meters. It will be the second tallest skyscraper in the world with the highest occupied floor and a record height of 590 meters.
