I used white and khaki green i29 to create block color interiors for the Dentista<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n“Our design strategy was to combine a clean, fresh medical environment with a healthy experience,” the studio explained.<\/p>\n
“The natural wood, abundant greenery and open design make visitors feel comfortable.”<\/p>\nA strip of greenery runs along the front windows of the clinic<\/figcaption><\/figure>\nUpon entering the clinic with its timber-clad facade, patients find themselves in a waiting area with a few chairs and a long wooden chest bench.<\/p>\n

While the majority of the rooms are painted white, the area around the help desk is completely finished in khaki green, from the furniture to the ceiling, walls, and floors.<\/p>\nSemi-opaque glass partition walls surround treatment rooms<\/figcaption><\/figure>\nA strip of flooring running alongside the clinic’s front windows is painted green and decorated with tall, leafy plants in khaki pots that help shade the interior from passersby.<\/p>\n
A white corridor leads to the back of the clinic, where eight treatment rooms surround a planted open-air plaza.<\/p>\n\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t
i29 designs Amsterdam house around the owner’s extensive art collection<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<\/article>\n<\/aside>\n Each room is enclosed in wood-framed glass panels with semi-opaque lines that help maintain patient privacy while letting in light.<\/p>\n
Aside from the khaki and green accent wall, the treatment areas are painted all white, which the i29 says “intuitively indicates medical professionalism.”<\/p>\nStatement green walls offset the clinical white interiors<\/figcaption><\/figure>\nThe color reappears in the staff lounge area in the form of a khaki green kitchenette and a long cushioned bench that hangs against a matching wall.<\/p>\n
In the evening, when less natural light streams from the courtyard, the entire clinic is lit by a series of ring-shaped pendant lights.<\/p>\nGreen walls are also visible in the staff rest area<\/figcaption><\/figure>\ni29 is based in the Dutch municipality of Ouder-Amstel and is led by Jeroen Dellensen and Jaspar Jansen.<\/p>\n
The studio has completed a few other projects in Amsterdam this year, including a corner house perched on a canal and a collector’s apartment.<\/p>\n
