While there were no indications or rumors that Apple was working on the V2.0 of the AirPods Max wireless over-ear headphones, they officially turned one year old this month, and that was true when Apple started approaching a review of most of its products.<\/p>\n

As such, the people in 9to5Mac<\/em> They dreamed of a simple and elegant concept of what they would like the second generation Apple AirPods Max to be. The concept highlights a number of improvements and changes that Apple can “realistically” expect to make over the next iteration, including:<\/p>\n

USB-C + MagSafe Charging<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Ditching Apple’s Lightning connector for the standard USB-C port on your AirPods Mac will not only provide faster charging speeds, but will also be a huge convenience for most users and make using them wired much easier.<\/p>\n

AirPods and AirPods Pro already feature MagSafe charging, so bringing them to AirPods Max would complete the lineup and give users another charging option.<\/p>\n

While they’re at it, could Apple also do something for every AirPods Max user and add some sort of option to turn off the headphones completely without putting them inside the case so you don’t lose battery while sitting at the desk somewhere?<\/p>\n

9to5Mac<\/em> He wants the next AirPods Max to have easily interchangeable cups and headbands, and for Apple to sell both components as well as the AirPods Max case separately in a variety of different colors.<\/p>\n

AirPods Max launched last year in the same five color options as the iPad Air 2020: silver, space gray, green, pink, and blue. 9to5Mac<\/em> Imagine the second generation of AirPods Max adding three new colors to match the new iPad mini: starlight, new pink and purple.<\/p>\n

Sweat and water resistance<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Apple’s high-end AirPods lack any semblance of water resistance certification, which most of its other audio offerings like AirPods and AirPods Pro come with as standard.<\/p>\n

lower price tag<\/strong><\/h3>\n

AirPods Max launched last year with a sticker price of $549, which admittedly has become prohibitively expensive for many potential buyers. 9to5Mac<\/em> Would you like to see Apple launch the next generation at a slightly lower price, perhaps at a bargaining price of $499?<\/p>\n

Apple has been regularly discounting existing AirPods Max by up to 15% less than one year after launch, so a slight price cut is possible.<\/p>\n

As for what other improvements Apple could make to AirPods Max in an update, bringing Lossless Audio for Apple Music into its most expensive audio product makes it a good candidate.<\/p>\n
