Sophie advises: “A snowflake manicure is exactly what it sounds like and surprisingly, it’s not as complicated as it sounds.” It consists of intricate little snowflakes painted on a neutral or deep base. The final appearance can vary from thin flakes of snow, with white or silver dots, to a prominent snowflake drawn on one or two nails.
There are different ways to achieve a snowflake manicure. While professionals often lean toward dotting tools and delicate brushes, many brands have created nail art decals that you can simply press on. Whichever method you choose, there is a technique to suit every skill set.
How do you put snowflakes on your nails?
Follow Sophie’s snowflake nail art step by step:
- Prepare your nails: “First, you will need to make sure your nails are perfectly groomed, and that the excess skin is pushed back.
- Oil removal: Wipe your nails with acetone to remove any oils.
- Choose your base: Next, choose the base color you want. You can go for a classic nude, or if you want to be more adventurous, forest green and icy blue are very popular this season.
- Draw on the points: Put the dotting tool in white polish and place a dot in the middle of the nail. Next, place two smaller points directly above the center point, below the center point, and to the left and right of the center point. Next, in the four spaces between the points (diagonals) put a single point.
- Draw on the lines: Get a thin outline brush, dip it in white paint, draw thin lines across the dots and voila, you have a snowflake. ”
