“The plot actually became a driving force for the planning. We put the bedrooms on the west with large private gardens that can be used for parties as well. The house is located on a high pedestal, so one enters via a set of marble steps to a low-rise porch with a wooden roof. In the interior foyer, the sense of access is provided by a brass console with wallpaper for a background. The formal drawing room is on the left, and the main house is on the right. Russell’s signature touch is evident in the social spaces, in the use of bold colors and striking backdrops and light fixtures, many of which are from the Clough studio.
In the formal drawing room, all the furniture is by Russell Gujral Ansal. “The glamor is conveyed through the strategic injection of gloss using light metallic shades of platinum and champagne,” she says of the elegant space.
